R suave gets one smooth swing. RR fuerte makes the needle vibrate rapidly before it settles — just like your tongue. R suave recibe un golpe suave y firme. RR fuerte hace que la aguja vibre varias veces antes de fijarse — igual que tu lengua.

The rule behind the sound La regla detrás del sonido
RR fuerte appears with written RR, at the start of a word, or after N, L or S. Everywhere else between vowels, it's R suave. RR fuerte aparece con RR escrita, al principio de palabra, o después de N, L o S. En el resto de casos entre vocales, es R suave.
